Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 25, 2026

UnlocksMove is designed to help people earn intentional access to distracting apps through real movement. This Privacy Policy explains what the app processes, why it is processed, and how to contact us.

Important summary

  • UnlocksMove does not require an account for the current App Store build.
  • The camera is used for active exercise detection. Current push-up and squat rep counting uses Apple's on-device Vision body-pose detection.
  • Camera frames for rep counting are not uploaded to our server in the current build.
  • Motion & Fitness and Apple Health step data may be used to award a capped daily movement bonus, including movement recorded by Apple Watch. UnlocksMove does not use GPS or location tracking for this bonus.
  • If you grant Screen Time permission, UnlocksMove uses Apple's Family Controls and Managed Settings frameworks to manage only the apps/categories you choose.
  • UnlocksMove uses RevenueCat for subscriptions and may use AppsFlyer, TikTok Business SDK, and Apple AdServices to measure installs, product interactions, purchases, and advertising performance.
  • UnlocksMove sends limited, anonymous first-session product analytics to a first-party Cloudflare service so we can measure onboarding reliability and screen-by-screen drop-off. This works independently of your App Tracking Transparency choice and is not used for cross-company tracking.
  • These providers do not receive camera frames, body-pose points, Apple Health step records, raw Motion & Fitness records, or the names/tokens of apps, categories, or websites you choose to protect.

Information processed by the app

The app may process camera permission status, live camera frames for pose detection, Motion & Fitness permission status, Apple Health step-count permission status, step-derived movement data for daily bonus rewards, rep counts, earned minute balances, active unlock windows, Screen Time authorization status, and your selected app/category/web-domain tokens from Apple's Family Controls picker.

Motion, Fitness, and Apple Health movement bonus

If you grant Motion & Fitness and/or Apple Health access, UnlocksMove may use step-count data from your iPhone and Apple Watch to automatically add a capped daily movement bonus to your saved time balance. This bonus is designed as a reward receipt, not a fitness dashboard. The current build does not use GPS or track your location for the movement bonus.

Camera and movement detection

UnlocksMove uses your device camera to detect movement during an exercise session. The current v1 push-up and squat flows use Apple's Vision framework on your device to estimate body-pose points and count clean reps. The current build does not upload exercise camera frames for analysis.

Screen Time permissions

If you choose to use app blocking/unlocking, UnlocksMove asks for Apple's Screen Time / Family Controls permission. The app uses that permission to shield selected apps, categories, or web domains, temporarily unlock them when you spend saved minutes, and relock them when the window ends.

Your selected targets and saved minute balance may be stored locally using app storage and an App Group so the main app and its Screen Time extension can coordinate relocking.

Local storage

Saved minute balances, daily movement bonus status, selected Screen Time targets, unlock end times, and app settings are stored on your device. Removing the app may remove local app data, depending on your iOS settings and backups.

Subscriptions, analytics, and advertising attribution

UnlocksMove uses RevenueCat to load subscription products, process purchase and restore results, and determine whether UnlocksMove Pro is active. RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier, purchase history, subscription status, device/app identifiers, IP/network metadata, and advertising attribution information.

UnlocksMove also uses a first-party product analytics service hosted on Cloudflare to measure first-session onboarding progression for the eligible cohort, including people who decline App Tracking Transparency. The app sends a random onboarding run ID, random event ID, event name, onboarding version, stable step ID/index/count when applicable, app version/build, environment, and event timestamp. These events are used to calculate aggregate step views, completions, conversion, and inferred drop-off.

This first-party service does not receive an account, email address, IDFA, the names or tokens of protected apps/categories/websites, camera frames, body-pose points, exercise choice, rep counts, banked minutes, Apple Health or Motion records, Screen Time selections, free text, purchase price, or credentials. Cloudflare may process ordinary IP/network metadata while delivering and protecting the service, but UnlocksMove does not write an IP address to its analytics database. Event rows are retained for no more than 180 days, and the aggregate dashboard is access-controlled.

UnlocksMove may use AppsFlyer and TikTok Business SDK to understand how people discover and use the app and to measure advertising performance. These services may process device/app identifiers, IP/network metadata, install attribution, and product-interaction events such as onboarding completion, protected-slot setup, paywall views, plan selection, purchase status, and restore status. UnlocksMove does not send the actual app/category/domain names selected in Apple’s Screen Time picker.

For Apple Ads, UnlocksMove uses Apple’s standard AdServices attribution token through RevenueCat. Standard AdServices attribution does not require App Tracking Transparency permission and continues independently of your ATT choice.

After onboarding, UnlocksMove may explain advertising measurement and ask for Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission. AppsFlyer and TikTok Business SDK are initialized for advertising-event measurement only after you continue to Apple’s prompt and authorize tracking. If you decline the explanation, deny permission, tracking is restricted, or you later revoke permission, those advertising SDKs are not started or are stopped and disabled; queued advertising events are discarded. When you authorize tracking, IDFA and the device/app identifiers and product-interaction data described above may be shared with these services for advertising attribution and measurement.

Support emails

If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, device model, iOS version, screenshots, or a description of the issue.

Tracking and selling data

UnlocksMove does not sell your data. If you authorize Apple’s tracking permission, device identifiers and product-interaction data may be shared with AppsFlyer and TikTok Business SDK to measure campaigns and app performance. Standard Apple AdServices attribution may operate without ATT permission. App Store privacy disclosures are intended to reflect this processing.

Children and safety

UnlocksMove involves physical movement and Screen Time controls. Younger users should use it with parent or guardian guidance. Stop exercising if you feel pain, dizziness, or unsafe.
